ABOUT MODULAR ROBOTICS
Founded in 2008 as a spin-off company from Carnegie Mellon University, Modular Robotics designs and builds robot construction kits for kids. With a mission to give people the tools to build and manipulate complex physical systems and enable them through play to critically learn about design, complexity, and the natural world, Modular Robotics is funded in part by grants from the National Science Foundation. Famous for their Cubelets, the world’s first robot blocks, these little robots teach big lessons such as robotics, engineering, design thinking, tactile coding, and computational thinking to builders of nearly any age.

They’re robot blocks
Cubelets are the only toy that uses Tactile Coding to help builders of nearly any age explore robotics, coding, and more. Uniquely designed, they are little bundles of software inside little bundles of hardware. As you build a robot, you learn to build a program. It’s a fun and fascinating way to introduce big ideas through play.

For building big imaginations
By harnessing their natural curiosity, Cubelets have helped thousands and thousands of children learn vital skills. More than just coding; Cubelets help teach foundational behaviors like problem-solving, persistence, and communication while building robots!
